INSIDE and Uncharted 4 were the most awarded games in awards from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) that were delivered last night. From Playdead took four awards, while Uncharted 4 won the prize for best game of 2016.
It is one of those curious cases that leave us these galas: INSIDE took the awards for artistic excellence, best narrative (in these two competed, in fact, with Uncharted 4), best design and best ‘original property’, and yet was Naughty Dog who went with the statuette for best game. Seen that way, one would think that INSIDE surpasses Uncharted 4 in all the things that the last adventure of Nathan Drake can be considered the best game of the year, but I know first-hand that the paths of the award are inscrutable.
It is obvious, as it is that the game of Playdead has had a huge impact and more than deserved, and that their achievements go beyond range of action that is often associated with a game so concentrated and peculiar.
Other notable awards are the best game debut, going for Campo Santo by Firewatch; the «best game in evolution» is going to Rocket League; We are happy to also see Overcooked in the category of best family game and Virginia in the best music. In terms of proper names the BAFTA best performance that has been Cissy Jones, Delilah in Firewatch, is indisputable; by Brenda Romero, that takes a special recognition to his career, you can discuss more, but nor is it bad won.
The complete list of winners is available on the website of the BAFTA.
During the gala did not miss the call, safety pin for the British, to the possible consequences of the Brexit in the industry of the country, one of the largest in the world. “We need diversity of talent, not only in terms of different languages, perspectives or cultures that include in our creative products, but also different experiences,” in the words of Jo Twist, one of the owners of the prizes. «To have a system without friction allowing to hire the best talent from anywhere in the world [necessary] to secure our position.»
