During the event to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Sonic, which ended made a few hours in San Diego and that you can see entire here itself, they have been announced some things related to SEGA’s mascot. Bad would that had blown the candles and come, for House.
Perhaps most importantly, as they usually do with these things, is what has been left to the end: a first look at the game, still unnamed, that will be on sale at the end of 2017 for NX and PS4 and Xbox One. The video teaches virtually nothing, but together back to the modern Sonic and the Sonic classic should make us think of something similar to Sonic Generations – that already was born as the 20th birthday party. It could be worse, of course, but I’m not even prepared to begin the cycle. not a damn trailer CGI and not buildings in flames rather than Palm trees.
And like the Hedgehog starts to have an age, they also have him pull of nostalgia to sack. For that is Sonic Mania, a potpourri pixelated that reimagines the classic for 16 bits and added new areas. This is responsible, in addition to the own SEGA, Christian Whitehead, Headcannon, and PagodaWest Games.
The first two are quite known in the glorious segueros forums: Whitehead, alias The Taxman, is the Australian Manager of Sonic Retro and Retro engine that has been used for the last official ports of the first Sonic; Headcannon is the study of Simon Thomley, a Lord of Los Angeles which is called Stealth and with its own engine has done things like the remarkable Sonic the Hedgehog Example Game or the endless Mettrix Project.
Just a few days ago Headcannon announced the cancellation of Sonic Megamix, a «extensive reconstruction”of the original Sonic rather like what proposes this Sonic Mania: using the original materials (in a stricter way than in Mania Megamix), were new levels to play as several characters from the Sonic universe. It seems that that work has been redirected to this new game, which is more official.
Sonic Mania will be available for PC, PS4 and One in spring of the year next. The animation of sonic by moving your finger makes me to be moderately optimistic, look what I say.
